July 1, 2024 Update:
We are learning to use our new website provider's website builder tool. This will be a slow process, as we are busy with preparations for AirVenture in Oshkosh mid July, and I am NOT an internet / website Wizard.
We've been getting Doll ready for the trip up from Pensacola. She is in Bartow, Florida with Harry Stenger and Joe Strickland for some adjustments and a few routine maintenance items, specifically securing the new ignition harness for the SDS system, adjusting the idle mixture, and modifying the oil fill fitting.
We flew Doll down to Bartow this past April, and have had three local flights since then. The most vexing issue we had as we arrived in April was an intermittent SDS ignition system: It would work on some flights, but not on others. Our troubleshooting involved Barry and Ross of SDS in Canada, Harry and Joe in Bartow, and me in Montgomery and Muscle Shoals and Pensacola. We are close to ferrying out of Bartow up to Pensacola, then on up to OSH.
Meanwhile, Mike Goransky shuttled down from his place in South Carolina to direct the loading of the "Blue Trailer" with various airframe items for display in our Booth # 631 (same as last year). "Gorilla" is performing Yeoman's Duty by driving up this week, trailer in tow with components, to position for the week of July 15. I plan to fly up midweek, when Goransky will have made another towing trip, this time with his camper, which will serve as our sleeping quarters. There are a lot of moving parts to this plan and logistics, but that's what it takes. Goransky is close to performing a power run on his S-51, but is taking time out to help us make our presence this year. We owe him greatly.
I will study and learn how to continue my updates with this new provider and their website builder tool, with photos and a more polished presentation. You can still, for a while, view past updates on the old site, www.stewart51d.com. Notice the letter "d" in that previous site address. Meanwhile, thanks for your patience, and hope to see you at AirVenture.

Doll rests in the pasture the morning after our trip, the mid-morning sun climbing through the day.
